mail to Bethlehem
it breaks my heart
to think love is so far away,
father forgive me for I am afraid.
it hurts to know a man unseen,
hardened, and left behind
and it to be seen as forgotten.
father forgive me,
for your ignorance for what I have known
and not said,
and forgive me for my ignorance
for what you have said but I have not seen.
it breaks my heart,
I must go now
I must leave
but I have not left what you have given me
it has only changed,
like you have not
and I must.
