Battered and bruised,
Psyche in knots which cannot be undone,
Lightless eyes, doused hope,
Soul exchanged for never-ending throb
Of pain and dreadful anticipation.
All the love is lost and the will to live.
And then the hand sneaks out
To **** the self or the other?
