I woke up all alone
My throat so dry
My eyes like weighted stone
Heart so empty, I wanted to cry.
Where were you?

I needed a hand to hold
Arms for comfort
Anything to keep back that aching cold
But I received nothing of the sort.
Where were you?

In that instant I saw to my final day
Cold, barren landscape empty and unwhole
So when I disappear and fade away
It'll be your turn to ask when hollow in the soul:
Where were you?
