My dear, my dear i must intrude
To my eyes, your eyes seem much too glued
Does he know the way you stare my way?
With the eye of a lover who did not stay

I wanted to be the one you called,
but when i came, you lost and balled
I don't blame you, of course not my love
I blame the fates, heavens and all of the above

The ones that led me to you, and you to me
The ones that made me filled with rage and jealousy
Of the lover you should have left for me
Oh why must the fates and i have to disagree

I know that it will never be the same
I thought your heart could be the one that i tame
But as i stand next to you and you next to me
I see that you want what is simple, what is free

But love does not work for those who do not wait,
The ones who are filled with regret and hate
On decisions they wish they could have made
But here we are my lover, my love this is fate.
