It was a long time
Not all the years were good
Battles fought and won
A life sometimes in much solitude
A book to keep her mind
A spot to sit and read
A blanket of Egyptian cotton to warm her
Never was I distracted
There should have been more time
She slipped away quietly Monday morning
I should have been THERE.
