TRACING MY EARLY CHILDHOOD
I passed beside the site of my old house
that my dear father was so glad to build.
I looked for buildings that were licensed then
to tell me now where my first years were reared.

There, my young parents were in early years
of their pure marriage that for them was dear.
They were so soft and gave me all their time,
and their warm underwings witnessed my cheer.

That was the time when l learnt the Lord's care,
seen through the hands of parents weaving love.
They made me feel that life was timeless joy
for that immortal child who loved to live.
