The sea gives me the same feeling as the city streets
swelling, beating, breathing,
to a rhythm more like music
more alive than I could ever be
weaving a thousand fantasies
and holding me steadfast
with the knowledge
that is is
by no means
safe

It whispers beguilingly
telling tales of swashbucklers past
letting me know that
no
I might not come back
The musical beast!
the sea! the sea!
never conquered
and never known
