I Went downtown for happy hour it wasn't very far
Einstein stood with Buddha in the middle of the bar
Al was drinking beer and Buddha shooting stars

All night long they talked and talked about things short and tall
About the reach of old and new and what made big things fall
They were talking past and future and how the near was far
But they couldn't tell what time it was or where they left the car

Einstein said to Buddha that everything's the same
You and me and light and hate all circling the drain
Not so fast the Buddha said and slowly closed his eyes
He slowly floated above the bar into the evening sky

Einstein started adding while he slowly scratched his head
The Buddha floated back to earth the air a solid color red
When I think of nothing that's when everything comes true
Life and death and light and dark all flowing in my view

Albert took a sip of beer and put his pencil down
He looked the Buddha in the eye and saw the world go round
All the zeros ever made equal nothing here
Just add one to get the sum and everything came clear

Can't be held just taken in
Only known from deep within
Fall to freedom, let's begin.
