i’ll try to do better- i say to my mirror, reflection still and steady, eyes weepy and sad. disappointed and i am unsure the world in my mind is sleeping; and clouds clouding me up, when i should be a clear sky.
i’ll try to dampen the clouds from my mind, let them simmer like summer fog clear up at noon let them soak into skin (and now, they have turned to wind).
i promise, to those eyes i will try to be better, mouth shaped like an ‘O,’ as i whisper. but the clouds keep sneaking back in.
