Thrills of Rain
The rumbling sound of thunder jolts me awake.
I spring up and walk out to witness mother nature do her thing.
The air electrifies as it anticipates a quenching storm
sending shivers down my spine and making my toes curl.
My soul stirs as grey clouds gather ready to unleash their power.
Tiny water drops kiss my skin
making me look up in glee.
The water droplets grow larger and the sprinkling turns to a torrential downpour.
Forgetting my problems, emptying my mind,
the rain soon turns to a soothing drug.
The scent of the wet soil
further soothes my soul.
In a blink of an eye, the heavy pour turns to drizzles.
My dance comes to a halt as the feeling of euphoria disappears.
The heavy weight of my problems are back.
I walk in sadly wishing the rain back.
Into my room I go to change my clothes.
I fall asleep, welcoming all woes.
