Jun 2013
a son sits in his fathers desk chair
swirling and playing with the levers
as he asks his mother
when his father is going to be coming home

the boy is met with a swift answer of
"Darling he isn't coming back"
and his 9 year old heart shatters into a thousand pieces
for he simply
does not understand the concept of death or abandonment;
even though that is all he will ever know in the actions of his father.
