Lilac and Black
He was in the mine
A deep dark hole
Full of anxiety and sweat.
He was feeling fine
Together and whole
Placing a bet.
When his world caved in
Darkness and worry go together.
Carbon fumes choking
Broke the habit
A dim grey smoke
Filled his space.
His living space
Not much
Oxygen in this place
A bird in a cage
Flew to safety
Whilst it could.
The pit horse sneezed
Refused to move
Its hoof
The roof collapsed.
Place your bets sir
The Devil called out
Odds I win, Evens I win
You lose .
