THE POETRY I LOVE
Poetry can be just pretty,
empty, showy, and too crafty,
nothing that reveals men's spirits
or a hint about life's merits.

Poetry for me is singing
what can give the deepest meaning
on a subject that should be shown,
sung in rhythmic words, a soft tune.

Poetry is thinking deeply
about life's concealed verity.
When it's chanted in a smooth sound,
one can feel he owns the whole world.
