Never felt as great a distance
As the 3 feet in between
Sitting together on this couch
You staring at that screen

Broken promises cutting deep
Your love a bold veneer
Hollow words preventing sleep
Your reasons are now clear

You didn't want to get away
To be out all on your own
You needed somewhere to stay
A place to call your home

My heart no more than a cobbled path
To the place which you now lay
Now feel its apathetic wrath
Because outside my heart you'll stay.
