I was once a little girl
With great big dreams in this old world
Went to school and learned the ways
But never dwelled on my own age
Instead, I focused on what’s to come
And hid the tears when I felt glum
What’s your hurry, what’s your rush
Can’t you see I’ve turned to dust
Stuck inside a broken shell
Fragile to the touch
Years of life show their wear
Whether a pauper or a millionaire
You can’t hide from Father Time
But try it, if you dare
