Needle
You can pass my heart through
the eye of a needle
it has shrunk so much since you left
I am amazed that it still beats
still pumps blood through
my thankless body
the nightmare of waking back up
to this loneliness, each day
is killing me
and I pray for my heart to shrivel away to
nothing
and cease feeding me
life
