Another day, another dollar
but not a dollar more
It doesn’t take an Oxford scholar
To work out that I’m poor

There are a few things that I own
and I've sown lots of seeds
But most of them seem to have grown
Only to be weeds

And writing will not make me rich
with every poem being a fail
This is why poetry they don’t teach
At Cambridge or at Yale
