WAR AND PEOPLE
How can you, war, ascend to such a stage
of high repute for doing gallant deeds.
You are the killer of the poorest men,
who are quite armless, yet you speak of pride.

The poor are always where great danger lurks.
They have to risk and go where food exists.
They scarcely earn enough to have their need,
or find what can placate their nagging kids.

They have only their tears for those who die
as they are friends and kin, who left young girls.
The rich will hear the news while drinking tea.
They only come back home when all is quiet.
