May 2020
Subtly, we demonized Hijab
We race at the sight of Zamgbeto
When Indians says "Nemaste"
We see a bunch of comics
Today, are we not "The New Masquerade?"
How I miss Yesterday

Ignore the warnings at your peril
Don't die before you die
For there is a time to die
If you die your die now
Who'll write your legacies?

In you, songs yet unwritten
Books awaiting publishing
Industries crested in your name tag
"Things" yet unshagged
Giving rise to a generation
Truth is, you are too young to die

Your village people are still active
Constantly testing their microphone
Please, prove them wrong
I miss school and church too
I miss my job like, but safety first

I miss hugging Onyinye
I miss my weekends of football
What about dateline with Silifa
Never will our lives remain the same
My only advice to you
Stay safe, survive 2020
Only then can you try again
