look death in the face and tell him to spare me a cigarette.

by mothwork

tell me, my love, how did you rip off the warning labels on your body so i could be easily fooled? tell me! tell me! you're exhaling chemicals and i'm inhaling them the nicotine that fills your lungs is making them feel like they're going to explode, and you hold onto my shoulder for comfort you claim you're better on your own but i slept with you in your car because you were fist fighting demons on highway 90 so, baby boy, tell me how you ripped off those tags that were supposed to warn me about you? tell me how you got your friends to be quiet! tell me! tell me! you're face to face with death and i'm about to shake his hand.
