Dearest Friend
“Dearest Friend”
Friends will come and friends will go
They are rare as diamonds in the snow
Hold them tight till love do you part
To let them change and bloom and grow
Love them now and love them then
Your dear dear oh dearest friend
Memories held dear are worth many a tear
But dwell not long lest they turn to fear
For love is strong and often kind
Though still it burns so often blind
We do not know how fast it goes
As it never leaves behind any foes
So look not back nor left and right
I’ll hold your hand through the darkest night
