Please accept my gratitude,
for your gracious attendance.
We have gathered here today to say farewell.

He lived a life of discretion,

prudence,

restraint.

Cupidity locked in a vaulted lair.

The malignant highway of adventure:
Such a dangerous stretch of road,
and one surely to be avoided…

at all costs.

And as I look amongst you,
I would like to say I am proud…

But alas, I am not.

For ‘he’…

Is me.

Listen my loved ones,

and take heed my dear friends;

forget how I tried to preach.

Erase the fear from your mind,

because walking in safe men’s shoes,

will almost certainly,

end in…

regret.
