I have a gift sent from the Lord,
It’s been here from the start.
He gave me the eyes to see his word,
and a lonely but beautiful heart.

He helps me release my pain
through poetry and songs
He showed me how to capture the rain
And put it where it belongs

I’ve walked these wicked streets
In the mist, I took a wrong turn
I still breath and my heart still beats
and I’m not ready to crash and burn

I still have something to say
and a lot of music in my soul
As I kneel down and pray
I cling to love and rock ‘n’ roll
