WE NEEDN'T BE RICH

We may not have pastries,  cookies or cake,

Or a cottage beautiful, besides a lake.

Work we may have to hard and our bread bake.

On our desires we may often have to apply a break;

But alongside continue we must,  to efforts make;

To people help, a chance we must always take.

We needn't be rich, powerful or strong;   help for our own sake.
