In the dark of a dreary night
I think of you
When the sun can’t show its light
I think of you
I wish you were here tonight
I wish you could hold me under the pale moonlight
I wish you were here to hold me tight
I wish you were here

When the creatures sing in the dead of the night
I think of you
When it rains so hard there is no sight
I think of you
I wish you were here to hold me dear
I wish you could keep me near
I wish that with you there is nothing to fear
I wish you were here

I bet if I felt the bliss of your tender kiss
I would wish that I may never miss
A moment without your kiss
Until that day comes, I can only dream
Of what it means to be by your side

Life is only a simple dream
It’s never really what it seems
To this conclusion it only means
I wish you were here…
This is one of my "young and dumbly in love" poems. This was written between 2006 and 2007.
