The dove does offer comfort to the heart
and soothes with velvet wing
a child’s yearning cry for more.
It sounds with tender tranquil tone
to tend on spirits wounded woes.
In some it hears a soul that cries
Then coos a mellow tone that balms
and holds beneath a gentle wing
an ethereal mystic shining thing . . .
It heals
