They cry to me
As I'm on my knees
—In and out.

They call for peace
But I'm falling to pieces
—In and out.

Whatever they say
Is always
A "yea" or "nay"

But now, they tell me
When I'm at their feet
They tell me to breathe

They say
—In and out.

But then the voices,
They fade,
They whisper,
But they still say
—In and out.

But when they start whispering
I begin listening
And do as they say

So I take
A breath
Slowly,
In and out

And as i take
A breath
All the voices
Dispel

And no more
Do they say
To me
—In and out.
