I stood atop your highest peaks
Satisfied in your expression
Of safety in all things
I stood by sheer cliffs
And knew that you would
Protect and hold me
But your omnipotence was failing
'
You claimed to see all
But you never saw me at all
You swore you heard everything
But never noticed me sobbing
Your smell was uncompromising
But never noticed the scent of salt
You boasted of infinite sight
But you never saw me

I perched on your highest peaks
My head in my hands
I knew it was over
But never wanted to believe
As your crystalline falsehoods
Began to shatter apart
I began to fear your heights
and fall
