midnight whims
forever rushed

have you let go
without us
without
noticing
us?

the stillness
of nights

above evergreens
atop a cranberry bush
a cedar or pine
broken apart
in an eternal stream
of consciousness

how
green
how eternal
she was

when she comes back
-- she will come again hold us
with such dry air
are we able to
wait?

when she comes
it will be
an undivided winged victory

will the air, however pure
be able to hold
the wait
