I am at peace with my pain

I feel the flames
and I no longer mind the burning

They cook my skin
sizzling
smoking

And I do not mind

I feel the holes burned in my body

And I do not mind

They are just there

A part of me in the same way that my nose sits on my face
Or my tongue lives in my mouth

I have stopped fighting

And I feel at peace
I know this poem may come off as dark, but I think it actually demonstrates my strength, and how far I've come.
