I gave you
My heart
Like I gave you
My jacket
On a cold day
When all was gray,
And you thanked me
Like one thanks
The person
Behind the counter
With the loose change
They just gave you,
But I figured
You'd leave me
Something of yours
Like one loses
Their umbrella
On a rainy day
That clears up sunny,
But you kept my jacket
And my heart
And now I'm cold
And empty
And you left me
Out in the storm,
But all I care
Is that you're warm and dry
As I patiently wait for the sun...
