The sound escapes parted lips
Loving, nurturing and caring sounds
One innocent, oblivious
Allowing the words to caress the heart
The soul opens
The trust is endless
The grass separates
A path is formed
It comes nearer
As the sound begins to fade
The innocent begins to be enlightened
It comes nearer
The blessed oblivion shadowed by the darkness of it
Tears fall freely as all is illuminated
As it comes nearer
The ears open more
The walls begin to form
The sounds that escape the lips
Are nothing more than the hiss of a snake
It reaches the innocent
Curving its body against the soft flesh
Crawling, slithering, preying
The sound nothing but a hiss
The hiss nothing but lies
The lies nothing but the sound that escapes parted lips
No more crying
No more pain
The snake has consumed the heart
and poisoned the soul
