The Key
You long to know me to know how to reach me
I tell you its not an easy task
You swear you want to try
You ask for the key to my soul
You already have the key but you donβt know it
You received it when you took time to listen when I was sad
To hold me when I was scared
To make me laugh when I wanted to cry
Your hellos touch my heart
Your goodbyes touch my soul
When you care it shows
Try not anymore for you have my soul
To do as you please
Cherish it, appreciate it, feed it
It hungers for your attention
But whatever you do
Do not forget
The key to my soul belongs to you
Take if for granted and the key shall be gone
Lost to you forever
