They all looked up
at the same dark sky.
A thousand pale faces
tilted upward.
Every empty mind and blind eye observing
the wide, black, hovering vastness
of nothing
And until their dying day, that same nothing
would haunt them
because they will know absolutely nothing
about the darkness that encompasses our planet
and allows our stars to shine.
