homesick lovesick

i built barricades to block my desire for your lips

because i thought it would be easier

to not be around you

than to be around you and face the truth that you are not

and never will be

with me

but the nights are cold

and your arms are warm

and i am not sure how much longer i can go

without seeing your smile
