I could have chosen a rose
But this daisy is right for me.
For a rose has too much pride
For a down-to-earth guy like me.
I could have chosen a tulip
But this daisy is more my type.
We both are lonely flowers waiting
To bloom when the time is right.
I could have chosen an orchid
But this daisy brings me joy,
That special kind of happiness
That only a daisy can give this boy.
Some might say that should have chosen
A more deserving flower than a daisy
But we are perfect together
Because she is a lonely flower like me.
