it's like a math problem
that i struggle with for hours
trying to comprehend
my confusion makes me cry
and all i want is to understand
understand why the numbers interact
with these numbers
why things change if you add or subtract
why the answer isn't always what
you thought it may be

we're just like all the possible problems
a teacher could present to us
i struggle to find our answer
