THE SOUL
( Bijoylakshmi Das)
It's when -
The dark veil drops down,
And the vesper Moon speaks not mirth,
Listless lips sing no lullaby
To the tired brown body of the Earth;
I hear You!
Oh Divine Music!
Close to my ears -
In the fatigued spirit's inmost dark.
The lonely night
Can herald the Dawn of
the mightiest Might -
Lying deep within each heart.
Leads to the realm of Light
Shines ever in the firmament blissful and bright.

Do you think -
The Ascetic in the cave
Or on his mountain top
Does nothing,
Just idles away time?
He fills the world with Power sublime -
In greater awakening.
Changes it by his Soul-state in elixir of the Supreme.

Work is done
In solitary sojourn
Alone and unknown!
Unseen by mundane eyes,
It's vague surmise!
Mind can never trek the inaccessible height -
Of Consciousness and Bliss infinite.
As you are always alone
to face feelings of dubious doubt and false compromise.

Thus arduous is thy path
Replete with fictitious pride.
You seek not Him -
The Shelter Supreme
in Ego's blind ken;
The One, ever luminous
Sits in the summit of the highest Illumination:
The ecstatic Paradise -
above matter, spirit and mind,
As every cloud ushers into a silver lining;
Even the Blackhole of despair can have the most glorious Beginning.
Sail on! Oh Lone Sailor!
On the sea of life
In the midst of tempest and strife,
Listen to the clarion Call -
Beyond limits of sky and earth,
There Heaven is ever azar
in its azure mirth,
The Sun sets not
Forever blithe,
.... And no mortal fear
Of death and disease.
Life is endless, green in the Eternal habitat, FREE.
Do you ever long to reach the Height,
Of the Supreme Might?
In your Soul's flight?
Break the bar: your EGO -
You have created -
In the long runway of life
Of fake pleasure and a failing strife.
Then only -
You are One with the Supreme Delight.
