like someone took a vacuum
and ****** the air out
no different than it is now

I remember how
it was when the magic was lost –
like a little girl at Disney World
who can’t find her mother in the crowd
no different than it is now

I remember how
I couldn’t sleep –
that if I did, I’d awake
and it be a dream
the only difference now is –
