May 2010
I’m a lightning rod for the strange forces in life
Attracting the unexpected day to day
So full of a kinetic energy
Sending the strangest things my way

I stand back and watch with a cool air of indifference
While my mind plays tricks on me
Attempting to determine where reality lies
Infatuated with the strangeness I see

My mind is stripped bare of all common sense
Sometimes I am fooled and I believe
In the inevitable part of our civilization
That plays these tricks on me

Yet, looking back along the curve of time
I think to myself and say
If I did not attract such an array of strange
Whatever would make my smile play
