I heard you not sleeping
you gave me "I love you"
and I told you to put it on the table
with the rest of the gifts
it's not that I don't want it
I just have to push a few of my doubts
out of the way to make room
I just have to deserve it
I would thank you
but I was told not to do that
I'm sorry I had nothing to give
I never do
that's why I'm confused
you gave me "I love you"
I guess now it's mine
if only I could understand.
and when I do
I can return it to you
this is the one time it's okay
to regift to the same person
