Nov 2019
I greet the ocean daily
With many standing on its beaches
It welcomes me
We're all here for the same reason
The warm embrace of the sea
Sweet release
A constant yearning to be free
But as the years pass my toes sink more deeply
What seemed like fun eventually consumed me
All shores eroded till the water reached my brain
Sapping slowly my consciousness grain by grain
My mouth is full
I'm choking
But I'll probably do it again
Till the lights go out
Slowly
All potential lost without fame
