May 2010
There are winding trails that rise so steep
I have walked upon alone
Searching for the one who will know
All the words to my heart’s song

My drifting heart's a lonesome wanderer
Who has traveled many years
In search of one who can sing my song
Out loud without fear

No roots have I put down for any length of time
Nor have I lighted there for long
Could this perhaps be because I seek
One who sings a perfect song

Could my heart ever be so deaf and cold
Or too blinded now to see
When the one who sings my heart’s song
Stands in front of me
