Ordinary

It's easy to claim courage or indifference in face of change

There was a time when that might've been true

being younger & more resilient

or just naïve enough

But these days, your voice is dented and disused

a bold whisper through fog

& dampened dust

the words flutter up weak

a common flock stirring skies

unnoticed

It's time to start counting

birds

again
