our shadow is there
it's always around
when the sun goes away
it can never be found

it follows us everywhere
all over town
its black and its murky
it don't make a sound

it will not come out...on most rainy days
it plays hide and seek...
in the fog and the haze

i thought that i lost...
my shadow one day
then it came out of nowhere
and stood in my way

he circles us daily
to capture the sun
like a vampire ghost
always on the run....

this shadow of ours
it's always been here
no matter what you think
or might even say
you have it forever
during the day

it's always been there
even when you can't see it
its not magic at all
you can believe it......
