Unrequited love, my
oldest, longest, and dearest
of friends
We meet once again,
where the bend
curves, like the shape
of my body illuminated
by the moonlit shore,
you're grasping me tightly
oh, unrequited love
you sing me a twisted melody as I lull to sleep
you hide in the shadows ready to grasp me once more
unrequited love, please let me go!
unrequited love, no, never let me go
we meet again
at the tides in the erratic sea
and the waves wash over
you and me, washing
our sins into the morning rise
and once again, we bid goodbye
