Tetrachromatic Teen

by cais

You ask what colour she sees She replies "red" You ask me what colour I see I see greens and purples instead I'm not colourblind In fact, the polar opposite I see colours that you don't see But to this fact you spit That it isn't true I am telling a lie But to see the truth, Look deep inside. I have a secret power Called tetrachromacy So you see the world differently To how it looks to me When you see grass You see green, right? Well I see pinks and blues And many colours bright. You ask me what kind of colours I can see that you cannot But I don't know because I've never known different than what I've got I see multiple shades of colour I see colours that aren't there For example you may see black, But I see golden brown hair. This is why when you ask me "what colour are my eyes" I can't answer, because my colours Are different than your disguise I have blue eyes I've been told But I see blue, pink and green And so many people have wondered How this could've been Happening, why could I see Things that they couldn't Well I'm a tetrachromat I see things I shouldn’t.
