The first time I learnt poetry,
I thought it should rhyme.
And that when it did,
It was supposed to between alternate lines.

You can have as many verses as you want,
But there must be four lines in each one.
And I got hooked to poetry,
because it was so much fun.

However, I wasn't exposed to more
Brilliant poems I should've read before
I should've known that poems don't
Always have to rhyme with bone.

This four lines a verse thing, it's not true
You don't always have to follow this rule
That's why I try to break out and be free
To try new things like rhyming with three!

And poems I read are always on the left,
Not on the centre, not even the right!
You can put it anywhere that you'd like!
Even if your words don't actually rhyme!

So I try and try
To not use this method
Of rhyming words
And four line verses!

Write poems in a new way!
Like in the center and right!
And lastly, don't you think it's ironic
The way my poem's aligned?
