I am a wild, red red rose,
that lived amongst the green..
And passerbys would stop and stare,
In the garden of the Queen..

The marigolds and daffodils,
Would not stand a chance..
As the breeze would break the still,
In their fragrance I would dance..

In the green, I stood as red,
And wild as I could be..
Until I was picked from my bed,
And gifted to the unseen..

A rose, so red, a wild red rose..
That bloomed in the morning dew,
One that lived with stark repose..
Now bloomed in a green anew..

Days passed, no passerby’s,
Would stop and stare at me..
No human touch, no wondrous gaze,
No shadow would touch me..

In time and place, I slowly withered,
into a dark, red,  nothingness..
until my petals slowly slithered,
Onto the once green rugedness..

With love and care, and admiration,
I could bloom and red the sky..
But now I live in desolation,
I cant bloom if I try..

I was a wild, a red red rose,
The heart and soul of green..
With beauty and poise, hearts I stole,
forgotten and secluded, I weep..
