The Young Suffragette
What talent belies the aging boy?
Fost'ring there an ancient flame
Once was used to get him here
Now he flickers with his shame.
Tearing there upon his skin
Between victors and those whisked away,
He is peeling off the edge--
And can you see it in his eyes?
this is probably the most self-depricating poem i've ever written. i'm not even that young, i'm 25.
